Your Day of Atonement


Atonement has been made for you.  In ancient days when the Father established His people from among a fallen and lost humanity, He provided a means whereby the sins of His people could be paid for at the cost of an innocent life.  He demonstrated this at Passover when the blood of a spotless lamb applied to one's doorway marked one's ownership to YHWH.  When the Father made His tabernacle the meeting place where we could draw near to Him, He used two goats to demonstrate that His purpose is that through the cost of an innocent life there can be cleansing for the guilty.  2,000 years ago His only Son, Yeshua Hamachiach, was sent to be the ultimate and final sacrificial Lamb to make atonement for the sins of the world.  He did this out of His love for us and His desire that we should come into a personal relationship with Him.  And today I can tell you that atonement has been made for you.  But my telling you this does not apply that atonement to you for the forgiveness of your sins. Romans 10:13 says,  "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."  If you desire to be cleansed of all your unrighteousness, to be free from guilt and receive the gift of eternal life you must come to Him acknowledging and confessing your sins in remorse for all the wickedness you have committed both in word and deed and in the private depths of your heart.  What better day to do just that than this Day of Atonement.  We can all come away from this day ready to begin a new walk of faith, a new beginning, a brand new start.  If this is the desire of your heart, then come to Yeshua.  If you were brought up to call His name Jesus, then come to Jesus.  He wants to come into your heart and change you from the inside out!  If your world has spun out of control, if you feel the drawing of His Holy Spirit to come and drink from the "well of living water," if you desire forgiveness from all of your sins, then do this right now:

1. Confess and agree with God that you are a sinner in need of a Savior.

2. Repent, turn away from your self-centered life and turn to Yeshua/Jesus in faith that you believe He paid the price for your sins upon the cross, was buried and then rose from the dead and is alive now and forevermore.

3. Receive His gift of forgiveness and eternal life with thanksgiving, and begin your journey of living the rest of your earthly days according to His Word, allowing Him to use you as His servant for His Kingdom as he chooses!

 

Welcome to the Family of God, you are now a child of the King, a joint heir with our Messiah, and a true Israelite!  Go shine your light in this dark world, someone else needs to hear this good news!

D.S. al Coda is Back!

After a three-year hiatus from writing this Blog, I have picked up D.S. al Coda once again.  I left off this blog site as I wrote a weekly column for the Lexington Chronicle since January of 2019.  I felt somewhat restricted from being able to write solely about the most important things in life to me--our Heavenly Father and the salvation we can have through Jesus Christ, His Son. I enjoyed the experience of writing for the paper and felt I should do so as my father, Rev. The Greatest War Hero of All Time

Today is Memorial Day.   This national holiday began after the Civil War in 1868 and was originally called Decoration Day since it began as a practice of decorating the graves of soldiers in the national cemeteries.    Since it originated in the north by those wanting to memorialize the union soldiers who had died, the southern states began having their own Confederate Decoration Day traditions, but by the 20th century the two competing factions merged into a unified Memorial Day to honor all Americans who had died in military service.    After many years of Memorial Day being observed every year on May 30, no matter what day of the week it fell, in 1968 Congress passed a law making 4 national holidays to always be on a Monday to give us four 3-day weekends.   So, Memorial Day is now always on the last Monday of May, and it marks the beginning of summer in America.     Do you have any idea how many Americans have died in combat over our 241-year history? 1.1 Million.
